The Coffee And Cellulite Connection
Coffee and cellulite have a strange but rather interesting connection! On one hand, caffeine is often considered to be one of the causes that aggravates cellulite on your body; and on the other, it is often said that caffeine is a key ingredient that helps in drying up the cellulite cells and making them disappear. To understand this unique connection between coffee and cellulite, one needs to first understand what causes cellulite, and why it is considered to be a big problem, and only then can one explore possibilities of applying coffee to cure cellulite.
Localiazed lipodystrophy, the medical term for cellulite, is basically the appearance of lumps on the surface of the skin that can appear on different parts of the body. The common parts of the body where cellulite marks appear include thighs, hips, buttocks etc. It is believed that unhealthy fats that are stored in our bodies, in addition to certain toxins that build up, result in the formation of cellulite. Since drinking excess coffee will result in building up excess caffeine, a chemical that is not considered healthy for our body, it may have an affect in the formation of cellulite cells.

Hence drinking excess coffee is a contributing factor in the appearance of cellulite cells. However this negative connection between coffee and cellulite is rather minor relative to the positives that exist between the two. Most cellulite removal creams contain high levels of caffeine; hence caffeine can indeed be a major ingredient that can help in making the cellulite cells disappear.
How Coffee Works on Cellulite
So how does coffee make the cellulite cells disappear? Cellulite fats start appearing as the blood flow is hindered due to certain unhealthy fats and chemicals. And since research has shown that caffeine actually helps in improving ones blood flow, coffee acts as a useful suppressant. This is exactly the reason why most cellulite removal creams have caffeine as a major ingredient. Rubbing such creams on your skin helps in breaking down the cellulites and as a result reduces the lumps of fat that appear. Hence coffee and cellulite do go hand in hand!
Applying Coffee to Cellulite
There are some simple ways in which you can apply coffee to treat cellulite. One such way is to apply a mixture of olive oil and coffee grounds on the cellulite areas. The coffee can be any brand of local coffee as long as you ensure that it is caffeinated. Once the mixture is applied, it is advisable to cover the area, ideally with a plastic wrap, and remove it after 25-30 minutes. It is believed that if this process is repeated 3-4 times a week, this coffee and cellulite connection can do wonders!
As an alternative, you can also apply a concoction of coffee grounds with any body lotion to affected areas. Not only is this an inexpensive option, but if applied regularly it can reduce the cellulite fat substantially.
The Scope Widens!
Interestingly, certain European manufacturers of ladies garments have taken this helpful coffee and cellulite connection to another level. They have in fact impregnated some tights with caffeine capsules so that it rubs on the skin, and helps in making those fatty cells disappear. Coffee and Cellulite, a really interesting combination indeed!
